  This 70-mile round trip multi-day, multi-leg, point-to-point race with an overnight stop over at the Temple Bar Marina is a club favorite. 

  This is a great event for Cruisers to tag along with the racing fleet and join the festivities on Saturday night. Most crews will fire up the BBQ for dinner and camp on their boats. Many crews will book a hotel room at the Temple Bar Resort Marina.

  Overnight docking fees are in additional to the registration fee and are payable to the Temple Bar Marina.

  Registration for all participating boats is required.

  Cup Fleet points count towards the Commodore's Cup.

  Responsibilities include cove clean-ups four times a year. The club will provide trash bags, gloves, non-alcoholic refreshments.

  This cove is only accessible by boat so the more skipper volunteers the better. Sign up today!

  Must be 13 years of age to participate. Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Classroom training will be held rain or shine (wind or no wind). The Nevada Yacht Club Fleet Captain may cancel on-the-water activities if hazardous weather conditions exist. If both days of on-water activities are cancelled due to hazardous weather, the Nevada Yacht Club will attempt to schedule a single make-up day, but a make-up day is not guaranteed.   Learn to Sail with the Nevada Yacht Club!

  
  

  Have you have ever wanted to learn more about sailing and sailboats? Then this is the place to start! Our two-day course is for the absolute beginner and for the sailor who just needs a refresher course. Instruction takes place both in the classroom and on the water utilizing club members' mono hull sailboats. You will learn boat safety, points of sail, parts of the boat, sail trim, steering, weather/wind, and so much more. The course is held at The Lake Mead Marina inside the Boathouse Restaurant. Included in your registration fee is the "Basic Keelboat" textbook, a Nevada Yacht Club Sail Training T-Shirt, and a completion certificate. Lunch is also available for purchase at a special price!

NYC will match Skippers with "non-crew members" through a separate registration type. Thank you in advance for welcoming our members!

  Want to participate but don't have a sailboat? The Nevada Yacht Club will attempt to match "non-crewmembers" with Skippers who can accommodate extra crew.  Non-crewmembers will be placed on a waitlist. Preference will be given to new NYC members. Confirmation of your spot on a boat will be emailed to you the week of the event. The Nevada Yacht Club will attempt to accommodate all participation requests, however, the number of available non-crewmember spots is based on the number of spots offered by participating skippers.

  In honor of Nancy Cox, the Nevada Yacht Club holds an annual Women-in-Sailing event. Details for this year's event to follow.

  Nancy was born in 1958 in Lansing Michigan. She lived in Las Vegas for 32 years and was an avid sailor participating in the many club events of the Lake Mead Sailing Club. She owned a Cal 29 named Soul Mate. Nancy continued to sail throughout her cancer treatments. A testament to her spirit, and I am guessing sense of humor and irony, in the announcement for her celebration of life, her LMSC friends wrote of Nancy: “Loved by everyone, trusted by most, cherished by all.” A memorial was placed on the top of Boulder Island to quote “create a place for her to watch over us each and every day as we sail.”
