Novice Fleet Racing

New to sailing, but want to race? Been a long time since you’ve competed? We’ve got the Fleet for you!

Join the A & B Fleet during each race and regatta. The NYC Race Captain will host a special briefing for first-time racers just after each skippers meeting (see schedule above for dates, times, and location).

Out on the water, after watching the A & B Fleets start their races, you’ll get to practice a start and even head for the first mark. The Race Captain will walk everyone through each step. No pressure! And best of all, participation in the Novice Fleet is FREE (excluding the Ostrom Cup) for NYC members! Just register as a novice fleet racer and join us at the skippers meeting with your crew. We’ll take it from there!
