Join the Most Exciting Racing Action on Lake Mead!
Are you a skipper developing a crew that wants compete in Fleet-Cup racing but feel like you don't have the experience needed? Are you a seasoned skipper looking for the opportunity to develop new crew where cup points are not at stake? This is the event for you!
Novice Skippers: The morning will begin with 2 hours of classroom instruction for skippers and crew in the back room of the Boat House Bar & Grill. Topics will include rules, start strategy, upwind strategy, mark rounding, and downwind/finishing strategy. After lunch, skippers will be assigned an experienced coach and head out on the water. Once on the water, coaches will assist skippers and crew in the practical implementation of classroom concepts.
Experienced Skippers: If you are an experienced skipper looking to try out new crew, or practice in a race setting without the pressure of cup points, you can skip the classroom session and show up on the patio by 12:00 for the race brief. We'll head out on the water to try out those new "tricks" you've always wanted to try.
Experienced race skippers who are willing to coach skippers developing their racing skills should use the "Volunteer Coach" registration type.
