Nancy Cox Women In Sailing

In honor of Nancy Cox, the Nevada Yacht Club holds an annual Women-in-Sailing event. Details for this year's event to follow.

Nancy was born in 1958 in Lansing Michigan. She lived in Las Vegas for 32 years and was an avid sailor participating in the many club events of the Lake Mead Sailing Club. She owned a Cal 29 named Soul Mate. Nancy continued to sail throughout her cancer treatments. A testament to her spirit, and I am guessing sense of humor and irony, in the announcement for her celebration of life, her LMSC friends wrote of Nancy: “Loved by everyone, trusted by most, cherished by all.” A memorial was placed on the top of Boulder Island to quote “create a place for her to watch over us each and every day as we sail.”
