Learn To Sail
Purpose of The Club
To teach the citizens of Southern Nevada the art and responsibility of sailing, navigation, water safety and seamanship, to encourage sailing as a sport and recreation, and to encourage fellowship among Nevada Yachtsmen. This objective will be accomplished through sail training seminars, social functions, and an active racing and cruising program.
The Nevada Yacht Club a 501c3 Non-Profit organization was founded in 1963 and is based out of Lake Mead Marina on Lake Mead (Boulder City). With 60+ active members, the Club’s primary purpose is to create a community of sailing enthusiasts by providing social, sailing, educational and boating activities. We hold general meetings on the fourth Thursday of each month. The Club offers Sail Training 2-3 times annually, Racing Series throughout the year, and many social and recreational activities. Visit www.nevadayachtclub.org for more information. We’re also on facebook!

Safety
Always wear a life jacket. These are some observations at the lake of some hazards. They may change as the water level changes but the same places seem to be present. They just move around a bit. These landmarks are just a few noteworthy hazards at Lake Mead. There may be hundreds if not thousands of obstacles for vessels of different types at any given time. Always wear a life jacket, thank you. If you observe something you feel is a hazard please note it and with the club and the park service. https://www.nps.gov/lake/index.htm
