Sailing Under the Stars

This registration is for crew looking for a boat to sail on. Your best bet is to come to our monthly meeting this Thursday, the 25th and talk with skippers directly, but we'll do our best to try to assign members to boats. Registration is currently limited and based on the number of spots boat owners say are available. We're currently employing a waitlist so as space opens up we'll add those who have been waitlisted to the registered list.

7pm-7:15pm We will meet on the patio in front of the Boathouse Restaurant at Lake Mead Marina and then sail. Do not come if you are not registered or are still on the waitlist, we might not have space for you!

Don't forget to pack your own provisions. The night air offers escape from the desert sun, but the evenings are still a bit warm. Be sure to bring plenty of water.

Summer Dinghy Day & BEACH PARTY!

Join us for a day of dinghy sailing off the Personal Water Craft Beach at Lake Mead! It's a great way to stay cool while sailing and hone your skills at the same time!

The club will provide various dinghies (sabots, lasers, sunfish, hobie, etc) AND fabulous burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw and more... AND/OR you can bring your own too! Please bring a side dish to share!

So come join the fun!

Fall Sail Training (Saturday, September 12, 2026)

Learn to Sail with the Nevada Yacht Club!

Have you have ever wanted to learn more about sailing and sailboats? Then this is the place to start! Our two-day course is for the absolute beginner and for the sailor who just needs a refresher course.

Instruction takes place both in the classroom and on the water utilizing club members' mono hull sailboats. You will learn boat safety, points of sail, parts of the boat, sail trim, steering, weather/wind, and so much more.

The course is held at The Lake Mead Marina inside the Boathouse Restaurant. Included in your registration fee is the "Basic Keelboat" textbook, a Nevada Yacht Club Sail Training T-Shirt, a light breakfast and buffet lunch each day!

Must be 13 years of age to participate. Participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Classroom training will be held rain or shine (wind or no wind). The Nevada Yacht Club Fleet Captain may cancel on-the-water activities if hazardous weather conditions exist. If both days of on-water activities are cancelled due to hazardous weather, the Nevada Yacht Club will attempt to schedule a single make-up day, but a make-up day is not guaranteed. Cancelations will incur a $10 fee per canceled registrant. Cancelations must be received 10 days prior to the event to be eligible for a refund.

Join us for the Nevada Yacht Club's October General Meeting. This is one of our most important meetings of the year as the Nominating Committee will be presenting their slate for the 2027 Board of Directors.

Not on the slate, but want to run for a position? If so, you must present yourself at this meeting to make it known which position you would like to be considered for. An election for any contested positions will be held at the November General Meeting.
